I think it should be added that Nigeria is a country blessed with so many mineral resources including rumour formations. This is a country where people are so attracted to rumours than the real truth.
It is being rumoured in many quarters currently that bathing with salt and not soap will prevent someone from contacting Ebola virus. Also some went further to say that the virus will be released in the air today therefore bathing with salt will help someone not to contact it. LOL! my question is, released by who? and where did the fellow get the virus in gaseous form and even in such amount to be released? Nawa oo! my lecturer always says "Every fool..." Inserting the phrase, I'd say, Every fool should know that Ebola is not airborne.
The
day we will develop the habit of reading to be informed, all
this nonsense will stop. Anyone who had understood the nature of this
virus will know that:
1) Salt cannot and will never act as a protective
film. if one bathes with salt now, what happens in the next few hours
when the body dries up.
2) If salt is a protective film, why is it that
one can still contact it with body sweat contact since sweat is salty.
Ebola is contacted via body contact with those who has it. So to be safe, maintain a good hygiene by always watching your hands and desist from touching anyone who develops sickness of any kind especially one with fever symptoms until the sickness is diagnosed. If you must touch the person, please wear hand gloves
