Following his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has prayed an Abuja High Court to declare the Governorship seat of Imo State occupied by Owelle Rochas Okorocha, vacant.
Through its Lawyer, Mr Victor Odjemu, APGA is asking the court to also install the deputy Governor as Governor of the State after the incumbent has been deposed.
APGA says since Okorocha has now pitched tent with a political party whose ideals are different from those of the party which brought him into power, it was only right that he ceases to become the torch bearer of the party in the State. The party reached the decision following a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting it held in Abuja on August 3, 2013.
